It all started when two friends came together and had an idea. Well, that idea has grown into a five acre corn maze and a one acre pumpkin patch. The corn maze design is a huge pumpkin and two ears of corn with many, many surprises and is over one mile of paths within the five acres of corn. They will be offering a “Haunted Maze” in October. They urge you to come out and “GET LOST” with them!

The Corn Maze is located on Hwy 73 between Mt. Pleasant and Albemarle. It is beside Salem Church in the community of Millingport.

The “Get Lost Corn Maze” will be operational during the months of August – October and the hours of operation are Friday – Sunday. Friday, 5-8pm; Saturday, 8am-8pm; Sunday 3-8pm

Love of our rural heritage, big dogs, free range birds, and pampered goats highlight the Sleeping Dog Ranch (SDR) activities while our goat milk soap factory, test kitchen, research, writing and artifacts support that lifestyle. Our primary business goal is to keep our dairy goats gainfully employed. Not a problem!

From the point of view from a family totally devoted to goats, our herd produced such fabulous milk that it deserved to be put to an equally virtuous use. The ‘ladies’ were delivering more milk than our tummies and refrigerators could hold. So, we had to think of something worthy and f-a-s-t.

After considerable soul searching, deep thought, and tons of research, Bob and I decided to develop a line of goat milk personal care products because of the milk’s extraordinary soothing and nourishing qualities. Goat milk soap offers a multitude of health benefits.

After researching soap making techniques and perfecting formulas for more than a year, Gran' Nanny's Goat Milk Soaps was launched in 2004. Making our products in small batches by hand, I can more carefully monitor the chemistry. Each product must either meet or exceed the standard of quality established by Gran’ Nanny’s Board of Directors.

I may make the soaps and lotions, but our products are supported by an enterprise of several individuals. All the ranch hands (a few of us actually do have hands, others have feet, paws, claws, or hooves) contribute to the soaps: the very picky husband, Bob, is the first human tester, the dogs will be responsible for a pet line (being developed), but it’s the goats who produce the goods.

The Gran’ Nanny team continually researches, tests, and packages products that offer the gentleness of healing oils mixed with the moisturizing qualities of goat milk.
