Around three years ago a gentleman by the name of Jerry Crayton had an idea for the town of Oakboro to host a Cruise-In. The idea was for people to bring their classic and unique cars to the town so that visitors could enjoy the fruits of the car owner’s labor.

Together with the Greater Oakboro Business Association the idea became a reality. Everyfourth Friday of each month has become known as Cruise-In night in Oakboro. People from far and wide gather in this quaint town to admire these unique vehicles. The Oakboro Cruise In is the largest in North Carolina with an average of 5,000 visitors per Cruise In.

It is always followed by the Burnout which is a crowd favorite. This is an event not to miss. Music, cars, great food, and wonderful people are all found in Oakboro during the Oakboro Cruise-In.
